Story Behind The Collection

The Blackout Collection I was an exclusive drop of eight limited edition hand dyed customized jerseys that were inspired by BPC players' collective and individual experiences during 2020.

The graphite color comes from the black and white photography commonly used by BPC across their site/social. Carrying this over to traditionally white kits was our way of showing that #MLSisBLACK and that black players have always been, and always will be, an integral and valuable part in the history of soccer in America.

The collection was championed by eight players from across MLS and USL. They are Mark Anthony Kaye (Los Angeles Football Club), Justin Morrow (Toronto FC), Jeremy Ebobisse (Portland Timbers FC), Miles Robinson (Atlanta United), Earl Edwards Jr (New England Revolution), Sean Johnson (NYCFC), Sebastien Ibeagha (NYCFC), Quincy Amarikwa (Las Vegas Lights FC), and the campaign features a 2020 jersey from each player.

As change must be unified at all levels, the BPC branded hashtag #TogetherThereWillBeChange appears in gold on the back of each shirt as a physical reminder to everyone that we are all equally needed in this fight for equality.

Each of the kits was available to fans through a charitable sweepstakes with all proceeds going to FC Harlem, a youth development organization in Harlem, NYC making a positive impact on the lives of young people through soccer since 1990.

More info and content relating to each players involvement is provided below.
